Students Connecting Through International Service

A one-of-a-kind opportunity to give back

Students Connecting Through International Service provides opportunities for students at six elementary sites in District 279 to give back to a school in Sasabe, Mexico. The program was founded in 2006 by Tammie Epley, a former Osseo School Board member. Schools that participate in Students Connecting Through International Service are:

  • Basswood Elementary
  • Edinbrook Elementary
  • Elm Creek Elementary
  • Oak View Elementary
  • Park Brook Elementary
  • Rice Lake Elementary

In 2018, the program was recognized with a Local Government Innovation Award by the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
