Twin Cities 5K

Students in grades 1 – 5 are encouraged to run/walk the Twin Cities 5K on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022!

During the first few weeks of the school year, there will be an after school bootcamp for students in grades 1 – 5 that will prepare students for learning and the Twin Cities 5K. Students who join the bootcamp are welcome to register for the 5K, but not required to do so.

Twin Cities in Motion generously waives the registration fee for Park Brook students and provides buses for transportation. A bus is provided from Park Brook to the Twin Cities 5K. Parents/guardians are welcome to come along to cheer on the students, however, they are not required to come.

There is significant research that show increasing fitness levels and movement will increase academic growth, so throughout the school year there will be opportunities for students to be active.

Park Brook uses a five-dollar commitment fee. This helps to get an accurate count of students participating in events and keeps costs low (such as transportation). With most weekend events a five-dollar commitment fee is required. The fee is returned to all students who attend. Students who register that become unable to attend must notify the office by the deadline on the permission slip in order to receive the five-dollar commitment fee back. The only ones who do not have the commitment fee returned are those who register and then do not show up for the event.

For the Twin Cities 5K, students who register but are no longer able to attend must notify the office by noon on Sept. 30 to have their commitment fee returned.

Registration forms are attached and will be available at Open House. Registration forms MUST be turned in by Wednesday, Sept. 21.
