A flashback to Feb. 2020: Science, Sleds and Siberians

Our Science, Sleds and Siberians program was a great special addition to our annual Winter Funland family event in Feb. 2020! Each February, our Park Brook community comes together for some healthy fun with active games and health information presented by Rasmussen College nursing students. We also welcomed community partners Rec on the Go, Pearle Vision (Maple Grove), Child and Teen Check-ups, The City of Brooklyn Park, GoGo Squeeze and Dr. Bryan Sween, each of whom provided valuable health information for our families. We also shared healthy smoothies with recipes tested out by our student/staff/parent Wellness Committee.

The highlight of the night was the opportunity for students to ride in a dogsled. Silent Run Adventures, a dog sled company in Monticello, MN, brought their teams and students visited and rode with the dogs. The District 279 Foundation generously provided the financial funding for this great opportunity for our students and families. Check out a video about this fun night!
